- Upon reaching a level, when do I get my Serial Number?
Ans: Once every quarter, after reaching a new level, you need to reach out to us at elcommunity1@adobe.com for getting your free redemption code as per your achieved levels (3 months free license or annual).
Adobe quarters are defined as below:
- Q1 – Dec 1-Feb 28 or Feb 29 (if it’s a leap year)
- Q2 – Mar 1-May 31
- Q3 – Jun 1- Aug 31
- Q4 – Sep 1-Nov 30
- I do not see any mail from Adobe in my Inbox.
Ans: No, Adobe will not mail you here. If you have reached a new level, please reach out to us at elcommunity1@adobe.com with a link to your profile and mentioning whether you work on a MAC/PC. The team will roll out the license(s) for you at the earliest.

I am getting started with this process. I just would like to know how long it takes to see the points add up. I like the incentives of giving expert users who answer questions and post relevant content a process for obtaining free stuff. Great Idea.

We distribute licenses at the end of every quarter. You can redeem your community points for a license key or extend your Captivate v11.8 subscription by 90 days. Please reach out to us during the end of Feb 2022 (end of Q1) to redeem your points.
Can you tell me how to post a tutorial video or how to showcase my works to get incentives?
You can click the ‘Post here’ button, select the type of content you’re going to post, select the category tags and send it for review. The moderator will review the content and decide if it’s good enough to publish. You get the incentive points once it gets published.
We’ve set some criteria for different types of content that’ll help you understand the expectations:
Blog
- Blogs shouldn’t contain any promotional content of any organization/application/product.
- Blog posts carry 100 points, so we expect substantial information regarding any eLearning topic, list of useful resources, or Adobe Captivate hacks, backed by links to credible sources or screenshots of workflows/steps.
- Blog posts also go through a plagiarism check, so we expect our contributors to submit original content.
Video tutorial
- A tutorial more than 4 minutes in length – typically covering some advanced features of Adobe Captivate or workflow demos of interactive projects.
- It should be visually appealing with recorded narration in English.
Showcase Project
- Original Poster (OP) should describe in brief what they set out to achieve in their project and list the Adobe Captivate features being used.
- The project should be aesthetically appealing, interactive, and instructionally sound.
- MS PowerPoint converted projects without any interactive elements and assessments will be rejected.
- OP must upload the source file of the project for being showcased on the Free Projects’ page.
- Points will be given only after the moderator reviews and publishes the project on the Free Projects’ page via the OP’s account.
When was the code sent out. I have reached Guide level and have not received the email for the complimentary 3 months subscription. I have checked Spam and Trash, but nothing was received.
I have achieved guide level in July l, yet to receive complimentary license. I have also dropped mail to the said email address. Waiting for the new license. Thanks

Has anyone successfully received the free license? I’ve reached the Guide level yesterday and would like to start my free subscription, but there is no clear indication on how this happens. This process needs improvement if it’s supposed to be a true incentive for joining and being active with the community. Otherwise, it is just a major disappointment for customers who are truly excited about the product and want to contribute.
I have successfully received it; but it is a time consuming, painful process that requires significant follow-up on my end. Response time is slow (if at all), and communication is hit and miss. I’m in the process right now of trying to get my new serial number and as a result of lack of response, have no access to captivate right now at all.
I will add; I just got off the phone with support and the maze of missing information and confusion feels almost impossible to wade through. I daresay it may not even be worth it to get a free year (and let me tell you that’s saying a lot for me). I started trying to get my renewal over a month ago because every exchange has been so frustrating and time consuming, and it wasn’t enough time. I now have lost access to captivate completely. Honestly, if they don’t want to actually support the incentive program, they shouldn’t advertise it and then botch it; they should just drop it altogether. At least then it doesn’t feel like I’m working toward earning something I may or may not ever actually get access to. My time is worth more than this.
Feeling very sorry, Lita. The whole ‘incentive’ document is wrong in many places. You know about my presence on the forums and in my blogs. Why are ‘likes’ not a benefit for me but for the one who gives the likes? Correct answers cannot be indicated, helpful answers neither. I am not invited to present at summits, but just to be there without presenting. Let me do webinars, think I have to offer a lot to Captivate users, but no way… Only a 3-months extension of my license I get when asking for it.
My dream to have a growing community with lot of interactions between CP-developers and engaging discussions is very far away. Have tried to help building, but failed.
I completely agree Lieve; there are many improvements that could/should be made to better engage and support users. I hope the community continues to listen and make those changes. I appreciate your input and support!
Also, a follow up to my earlier frustration. I did reach someone in support last night who really cared about my situation and committed to talk with their team and get it resolved as quickly as possible. I woke up early this morning to an email with my new serial number and I’m so grateful that it was resolved and they persevered to get an answer back to me so quickly. Now onward and upward!
One last post, then I’ll leave it alone. Heena was the support agent who was so very helpful and even sent a follow up email today asking if everything was resolved. So appreciative of her help!
I am confused. Early in this blog it says that if we reply to this blog we would get a response in regards to the license; however, I see so many postings without a response. Maybe the response is private. But it would be a good idea if that was better explained.
I just got all the necesary points to be a Guide. When would I be able to get the code? Will I need to wait until January? Or could I get it now?
I have not got any serial code for the quarter beginning June 1. I checked inbox and spam as well.

I still haven’t received my serial number, despite having checked my spam account.
There were two reasons why I never could use Presenter Video XPress: using a retina screen or a normal screen but on a system without a webcam. Now that problem is solved, because I can use the system without webcam, which was not possible with Xpress. I used Video Demo already several times to create a video which I used in a cptx project as interactive video. One has been published in this portal about creating a custom Play/pause button.

I have the opposite question. I have an active subscription but I want to ensure I’ll get a separate serial number and not just applied to my already active subscription. I reached guide level in May but do not see an email from Adobe.
